Sal just called Chris Simms Phil Simms. Oh well. He says that Tampa is interested in Quinn and Peterson. Talk about not drafting a position of need. If you don't like Gaines Adams at 4, then trade down! I guarantee there are teams that would trade up to get Quinn or Peterson.
The analysts are dissecting what Quinn looks like with his shirt off. Are we getting punchy already?
Less than 6 minutes for Tampa.
What a great draft so far. All the picks have had a little bit of intrigue, including this one. Is Jon Gruden crazy enough, or does he have enough say (on the hot seat) to draft Quinn?
4 minutes.
Gaines could be the pick here. He's pretty versatile. The analysts aren't talking about him much. This could be the first pick in this draft that is a reach.
They just flashed to Gaines on the phone. 2.5 minutes.
First Mario Williams-Gaines Adams comparison. Mel got it perfectly: Adams isn't the superfreak athlete that Williams is, but he was more productive in college.
Here's the pick.
The Bucccaneers select....Gaines Adams!
I just have this bust feeling about Adams. No. 4? This scares me if I'm a Bucs fan.
This does leave the door open for a Detroit-Tampa trade, but I'm not getting the indication that the trade will happen.
The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock with less than 12 minutes.
I don't really know where they should go here. O-line or defense should be the pick, but I would try extremely hard to trade down a few slots to get in position to take Levi Brown. As I said, I think there has to be some interest for Quinn or Peterson from some teams farther down.
First NFL Live crew sighting. Mark May, Sean Salisbury, and Michael Smith.
Arizona has always liked Levi Brown more than Thomas, as Smith just said, because he's tougher, and that's Russ Grimm's type of guy.
Would Atlanta take Brown or LaRon Landry at No. 8? That's what Arizona needs to determine, because if Atlanta would take Landry, maybe Arizona could trade down, but if the Falcons would take Brown, then the Cardinals should stay.
Here's the pick: Levi Brown!
